The Effing Sixers are -300 Favorites to Make the Playoffs After the J.J Redick Signing

Yes, I understand that the reason this is so high is because a lot of people are betting on the Sixers to make the playoffs and Vegas just wants the money to even out…

*starts yelling*

Yes according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook the Philadelphia 76ers are heavy favorites to make the playoffs this season:

LOL at the Lakers… What a horrible “rebuild” they’re having even though they’ve been trying to win, which again, is far more embarrassing than tanking. Losing when you’re trying to win and instead being incompetent is far worse than designed losing for this outcome. Seriously, look at the contrast between the Sixers and Lakers. Not only do the Sixers have the far superior young talent, they also have oodles of cap space because they didn’t sign guys like Timofey Mozgov and Loul Deng to cap-crushing deals. Are we also so sure that Paul George is just going to up and leave next offseason to join that dumpster fire? I don’t know…

Anyway, the Sixers are -300 to make the playoffs after the J.J Redick signing and with everyone in the East on the downswing it seems ripe for the Sixers to make a run.

The locks to make the playoffs in the East next season are:

  • Cleveland
  • Boston
  • Washington
  • Toronto (foolishly running it back)
  • Bucks

From there you have a pool of the Sixers, Heat, maybe the Pacers, the Pistons and the Hornets. All of those are reaches. The Bulls, Hawks and probably the Pacers are all going to rebuild this season after making the playoffs last.

And looking at this objectively, when Embiid was on the court last season the Sixers, with Sixers-like talent around him, had the numbers of a 55 win team. A healthy Embiid alone could lead this team to the playoffs, now you’re adding in Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz and J.J Redick and yes, you should be thinking playoffs.

This is going to be so much fun.
