Eagles Fans Put Up A Billboard Near Gillette Stadium To Troll the Patriots

If you are heading to the Super Bowl rematch of sorts this week, chances are you will see a fresh use of ad space in New England. A Massachusetts based Eagles fan has pulled together donations to put up a billboard near Gillette stadium, commemorating the Eagles 41-33 victory over the Patriots in February.

Alright, alright, not bad.
This all started when a Birds fan named Gina Lewis, who lives in the New England area, bet her co-worker she could get 4,100 likes and 3,300 retweets on an Eagles related tweet. I guess her co-worker has no clue how the internet works seeing as a kid got 3 million retweets for chicken nuggets. God bless that kid. So, after easily doing that, she set up a GoFund Me for the billboard price and here we are.
I guess there was a bit of controversy surrounding the GoFund Me. Some of Twitter’s finest thought she had stolen the money to Keep up with the Jones’s instead of paying for the billboard and donating to the AO1 Foundation (like she had promised). Yet, the billboard is up in plain sight so I don’t fully understand that frame. Everything has to be a conspiracy these days the size of the President’s Book in National Treasure 2.
The artist behind the billboard is this young guy named Jordan Spectre. If you haven’t seen his stuff before it’s pretty sick, check out his Jalen “Green Goblin” Mills piece below.
As for the billboard, he did his best without violating any copyright BS and created it all by hand. It’s tough to make a billboard pop with handwritten art. Personally, we could’ve thrown a picture of Tom Brady making out with his son or Tom Brady dropping the pass intended for him and that would’ve done it for me. Or, simply just the scoreboard:
Regardless, a lot of people on the internet have been giving the creators shit for the look of he billboard. That’s what we do on social media these days. We used to try to get ourselves in Twitter jail, now we hate on everything or anyone for the fun of it. Great times. Like I said, tough to make a billboard advertisement by hand but typically he’s got some A1 pieces.
Who are we to tell people how they can or cannot troll the Patriots for losing to a backup quarterback in the Super Bowl because Tom Brady was more focused on making out with his son?  I got the score tattooed on me so I’m permanently invested in this running 41-33 joke. If you hate it, this billboard will only be up 4 weeks. We will check back to see how New Englanders react to it as they head to Gillette Stadium on Gameday.
